Welcome Friends! We are so excited you’ve stumbled upon Murphy Media. We would love to share a bit about who we are and what we dream of for Murphy Media to become. We are Ryan and Tonya Murphy. Ryan is the photographer in this duo, while Tonya’s job at Murphy Media is to write this about me section and carry the camera bag and extra gear (kidding, only slightly. Ryan helped write this). Ryan has so much creative talent behind the lens and this journey is well overdue!

Our personal story began what feels like a lifetime ago. We were a couple of high school sweethearts who didn’t get their shit together until our mid 30s when we finally found our way back to each other. We didn’t waste a second chance and got married, and it is definitely our favorite love story. We hope for Murphy Media to emulate the roots of our love story, for it to capture all of the unconventional, gritty moments in all of your lives that end up the most beautiful and favored memories in the end. We have learned all too well over these many years that life is not a collection of beautifully posed family portraits, and while we LOVE those perfect Christmas cards, what we love more is snapping the moments when you are just being yourself. When personality comes to life in a photo thats when we know we have done what we set out to do. Ryan’s take on photography and videography has always been to portray events as authentically as possible. Our story has taught us that life is unexpected, chaotic and beautiful. Ryan will tell you he has always thought of this art form as a unique opportunity to capture the fleeting moments in the most genuine way. Ryan began this art in college when he pursued and earned a degree in Media Arts and Studies. He has worked for many years mostly in video production. Videography is where his documentary style of video and photo was born, and he hopes to create this with Murphy Media. Life itself is a love story and we hope to be a small part of yours.
